Just be solid in what you know is true. The truth is, every denomination has a different slant on what the Bible says and how it is interpreted. Christian Universalism is no different.
In fact, the concept of salvation and the way church was done in the time of Jesus were not at all like any of the current denominations.
What we all believe, and what should unify us, no matter what, is the triune God. Father, Son, Spirit. Defined as they are in scripture by God in Christ and the Spirit.
Look at the creeds, focus on the “red letters”, take the rest as good teaching, in light of the culture (not gospel truth) and subject to current cultural drift.
Hold fast to the Triune God as you sort out your own historical and weird “gospel”…we all have some issues 😉.
It’s hard, but always leave open a space for new info…or even some new light on old info. If it fits with the persona of Christ, let it in…see if it remains consistent, and eventually you can adopt it.
Caution though…the only bit of our faith which is set in stone is the nature and character of the triune God.
So if you make a mistake on what you adopt, simply move on from it and listen for what is best ❤️
When in doubt, leave it (whatever is bugging you or trying to get into your worldview…or something that needs to be purged) and go to the creed. Just Remember Him who created all, loves all, and redeems all. He is all you need ❤️
I guarantee you we will all get something wrong while walking around on planet earth…and when we go to meet Jesus, all of the mistakes, wrong thinking, everything that was not true…will be burned up. All that will remain is love.
So, as much as you are able, err on the side of love. Admit your imperfections and own up to them (and don’t evaluate your neighbor’s) and do your best to stay out of judgment Walk on in the love of the triune God who created absolutely everything, knows, hears and sees absolutely everything, all the time, no exceptions.
If anyone disagrees…let them. Just let them go and walk on knowing the truth and hoping they see it too before their time here is gone. If not, know that you will see them again. There will be no argument then…only love.
