We should expect that a story authored by God would be the very best story imaginable – or even unimaginable! Can we not imagine that God would recover all that was lost to Him? Do we think that He is not wise or competent enough to acquire what He sets out to retrieve for Himself? Scripture affirms that God “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (Eph 3:20).
Why would a God of infinite goodness and infinite wisdom fail to come up with the best of all plans? Is He less imaginative than we are – or less compassionate? We should give God credit for having had a perfect plan on the drawing board before He ever laid the first brick of the created order.
